Henrique Rodrigues
I swam the 200 individual medley for Brazil at two Olympic Games: a semifinalist in London 2012 and 9th in Rio 2016. In Toronto 2015 I became Pan American champion with a Games record of 1:57.06, the third fastest time in the world that year, and I was a World Championship finalist in Kazan.
Sixteen years of high performance swimming taught me where speed really comes from. It is not the extra practice, and it is rarely fitness. Technique is the part of the sport that matters most, and the part almost no swimmer gets honest feedback on.
“Races are won in technique.”Why I built SwimLytic
As a professional I had coaches, cameras, and biomechanists watching every detail of my stroke. Most swimmers have none of that. They train hard for years while the same technical flaws quietly cost them time, because nobody can see their own elbow drop or feel the difference between a good catch and a slipping one.
SwimLytic is that gap closed with software. Film a lap with your phone and the app maps 33 body landmarks frame by frame, scores 8 technique metrics, and tells you in plain words what to fix and which drills fix it. The analysis runs entirely on your device, so your video never gets uploaded anywhere.
I also write the SwimLytic blog myself: technique breakdowns, training structure, and the honest answers I give swimmers on the pool deck.
